JO FAHY

The amount of time I've been on set, on location, on motorway service forecourts at 2 in the morning taken a beat & thought.......wow! how did I get here !! 'Here' being a place that changes everyday which I absolutely adore.

One day I'm in the middle of the Lake District in a family Manor house preparing a 19th Century evening meal for the Bronte's, the next I'm recreating a meal for JFK & Harold MacMillan at The Savoy in 1936! Then travelling overnight to bring to life Chinese takeaways to a high rise in Bristol! Then back up Liverpool to use Queen Elizabeth II gorgeous State Banquet China..........I was too scared to touch them lol!

I spend sooooo much time on the road, but whilst I'm driving I'm planning ahead my next stills shoot that could be burgers, fish dish recipes, fast food, coffee or cocktails! Video, TV ads, baking, mixing, stirring, planning.........

So where is here? Its pretty much everywhere but wherever it is I love it !

To answer my own question of how did I get here? Well briefly......its Barbara' fault! LOL

She brought me into photography when I left the Police in 1995. We then had a restaurant together which when we sold it became the springboard for my current career. And its been non stop since then........from stills to TV to film work.

I love each challenge each location & every one of the simply fabulous people I have the pleasure to work with. The history & heritage of food design through the ages to modern cuisine......I love it all.

Was it luck? I find the harder you work the luckier you get but it has been through the kindness of many people along the way that I'm so thankful for........& yes absolutely a huge creamy dollop of luck !

And here's to the future as it goes from strength to strength.......looking forward to it.......simply can not wait !
